Nearly 20 years since Veselin Kurtev lived and worked in the United States. He has his own gallery and arranges many of his own and colleagues’ exhibitions. This exhibition is his first in Plovdiv after such a long absence from Bulgaria, and his second exhibition at the Vazrazhdane Gallery. His paintings are typical of his handwriting – figurative, immersed in abstract messages. There are many psychological moments in the compositions, there is sensuality and experience in resolving human relationships. The special symbiosis between figures and abstraction creates a release in the tension between people, the negatives melt away and a light, colorful optimism determines the strength of this elegant and mature painting!
