A new Bulgarian series, which turns out to be the last role of Tatiana Lolova, will air on the Bulgarian National Television 1 in April.
The Portal is directed by Ilian Dzhevelekov and in it, the great actress, who passed away on March 22 at the age of 87, enters the image of a bourgeois dissident lady from the recent past. The series is an adventure drama with elements of action, romance and comedy. The shooting is over and in a few days, we will see the first episode.
The Portal follows the story of a man from 2019, who falls into the past – in 1979. He is faced with the task of investigating a murder that has not yet happened. At the same time, a separate storyline follows another man from the past who comes into contemporary Bulgaria.
The aim of the team is to describe to the young generation the recent past through pop culture. That is why the series recreates a number of cultural and social elements from the late ‘70s. It takes viewers back in time, with familiar characters and events, and unexpected situations.
In the Portal we will see the Soviet cars moving on the Bulgarian streets, we will remember what the socialist press and the Chavdar buses looked like. Pop singers and artists also have representation in the series. Only the name of Yordanka Hristova will not be changed, and her role will be played by Maria Ilieva.
Besides Lolova, we will also see Velislav Pavlov, Alexander Kanev, Stefania Kocheva, Julia Bocheva, Stefka Yanorova, Hristo Mutafchiev and others.
