Small organizations working in the field of culture will have access to funding under the European Union’s Creative Europe program. It supports the cultural and creative sectors.
For the new programming period until 2027, Creative Europe will have a budget of nearly 2 billion euros.
The application for the projects is online.
“This will make it easier to access information when applying. Everything is more transparent now “, reminds the head of the” Culture “office in the” Creative Europe-Bulgaria “bureau Desislava Pancheva.
The requirements for co-financing of projects are expected to be eased. Thus, small organizations will have access to the program.
“This is very good, especially for the organizations from the Bulgarian Cultural Center.”
The National Culture Fund has a program for co-financing successful Bulgarian projects under Creative Europe, and the Sofia Municipality also offers support.
“Applicants could participate without any financial resources that they have to invest,” explained Desislava Pancheva.
Thanks to the program, Yavor Kunchev, founder of a swing dance school, and his team continued to practice art during the last difficult year.
“Thanks to this type of project, cultural organizations like ours are able to exist even in a pandemic,” he said.
Yavor and his team are participating in a joint project with an organization and other European countries. In July and September they organize events in our country related to swing dancing and music and continue.
“As difficult as it is for us to dream, we must continue to dream,” said Yavor Kunchev.
