Bulgarian film premieres, class jury, expansion of the program and the locations of the screenings – all this will offer cinema lovers the sixth edition of the International Film Festival, which opened on 16.07 in Burgas. It all started at 9.15 pm on the Snail stage with the Belgian film ALL-IN.
In Burgas we will see the Oscar-nominated film “Deep Feeling”, co-produced by Dr. Ilian Ivanov from Burgas, who will personally present it at the screening on July 22 at 9.30 pm in Snail. 7 are the titles in the full-length competition, winners of awards from festivals such as the Berlinale, Venice and Rotterdam. For the first time the short program is divided into Bulgarian and foreign films, says the director of the festival Emil Ovanesov:
“We have several big premieres. Literally two weeks ago the authors themselves finished their work, the directors did not watch the films on the big screen. This is” Beaujolais “by Irena Daskalova, who will arrive in Burgas with the whole team. The screening is from Saturday.” “Snail” – international premiere. “Natasha’s dream” is the other title of the young director Vanya Boycheva. The festival is aimed at young people and debuts, this is our strength. “
The grand prize is 10,000 euros in the form of services for the next project, of the director who won the jury’s approval. This year the films will be evaluated by the director and screenwriter Kamen Kalev, the cameraman Kaloyan Bozhilov, the actress Martina Apostolova, the Belgian director Deben Van Dam and the sound designer Atanas Cholakov. For the first time, the festival will have a youth jury.
The Municipality of Burgas supports the event. Deputy Mayor for Culture Diana Savateva shared:
“I am glad that this year we are breathing more calmly, we do not have such worries about travel and the international character of the festival will be more pronounced. We are expanding the places where the festival will have a presence.”
There will be screenings of the program in five places in Burgas. These are the summer stage “Snail”, the Cultural Center “Sea Casino”, the gallery “Georgi Baev”, the Cultural House of Petrochemistry and the Center for Contemporary Art.
For the first time, the International Film Festival in Burgas will offer a cinema tour of the places where cult Bulgarian films were shot. The first tour for movie buffs is tomorrow night at 6 p.m. The meeting point is the Casino. We draw the route together with the guide Petya Rusinova from Burgas free tour:

Over 20 Bulgarian tapes have sealed the spirit and architecture of Burgas. The film tours will take place on each day of the festival until July 23.
