Bulgarian Maria Bakalova won the award in the category “Best Actress for Supporting Female Role” of the American-Canadian Association of Film Critics (Critics’ Choice Movie Awards) for her role in the film “Borat 2”. The ceremony took place last night, with the awards being presented for the 26th time.
Bakalova overcame the competition in the category of Glenn Close, Olivia Coleman, Amanda Seyfried and Yun Juh Jung.
The big triumph, as well as the Golden Globe, was for the film Nomadland by Chinese director and screenwriter Chloe Zhao, which won the awards for best film, best director, best adapted screenplay and best cinematography.
Carrie Mulligan won the Best Actress award. Chadwick Boseman was posthumously named best actor for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
The award for Best Supporting Actor went to Daniel Kaluya for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.
