The Burgas exhibition will decorate two major anniversaries in Sofia – 40 years since the establishment of the National Palace of Culture and 75 years since the establishment of the Burgas gallery “Petko Zadgorski”, the municipality announced.
Today the National Palace of Culture will host two interesting events presenting the culture of Burgas. The initiative is organized jointly by the Municipality of Burgas, the National Palace of Culture and the Petko Zadgorski Gallery. The events are hosted by the Art Gallery of the National Palace of Culture and the Peroto Literary Club.
The premiere of the film The Enlightened will give a strong start in the club “Peroto”, where the winners of the National Poetry Competition “Hristo Fotev” will be guests. The intriguing film, the work of director Hristo Simeonov and cameraman Hristo Dimitrov – Hindo, manages to introduce connoisseurs to the world of Hristo Fotev. Enlightenment is inspired by the poet’s four favorite poems.
The evening will continue with the presentation of the personal work of the winners of the competition of the same name. The event starts at 16.30. The program includes Aksinia Mihailova – winner of the award in 2010, Rosen Drumev – awarded in 2012, Yordan Eftimov – winner in 2014, Ivan Suhivanov – winner of the award in 2016, Alexander Sekulov – winner of the award in 2018 and Tsveta Delcheva – awarded in 2020. Poems of the first holder of the sculpture “Golden Feather” – Toma Binchev, will be presented by the presenter Hristo Simeonov. Along with them, author’s poems will be presented by the poets Milka Stoyanova and Roza Boyanova.
The Hristo Fotev Literary Prize was established in 2008 by the Municipality of Burgas, the Association of Bulgarian Writers, the Union of Bulgarian Writers and the Ministry of Culture. It is awarded in a year on March 25 – the birthday of the poet Hristo Fotev.
The events in the Art Gallery of the National Palace of Culture and the Peroto Literary Club will be realized in compliance with all anti-epidemic safety measures.
Selected works from the fund of the Burgas Art Gallery “Petko Zadgorski” will be arranged in the Art Gallery from 6 pm on May 20. The exposition will mark two big anniversaries – 40 years since the establishment of the National Palace of Culture and 75 years since the establishment of the Burgas gallery “Petko Zadgorski”. The exhibition includes 30 selected paintings by iconic artists Atanas Yaranov, Georgi Baev, Georgi Bozhilov, Genko Genkov, Emil Stoychev and Ivan Vukadinov. These are artists with respectable artistic creativity, without which we cannot imagine Bulgarian art. The impressive exhibition, which brings together six of the iconic figures from our cultural heritage of the 70s and 80s of the XX century, will be at the National Palace of Culture until June 15.
