The new edition of Kinomania will delight fans of quality cinema with several exciting titles from around the world.

Among them is Nomadland —  with six Oscar nominations, two Golden Globe Awards and 7 BAFTA nominations, including Best Picture. The extremely talented Francis McDormand is in the lead role in this story for modern nomads. The spirit of the film can best be determined by one of the lines of McDormand’s heroine – Fern: “I’m not homeless. I’m just without a house, it’s not exactly the same. “

Nomadland can be seen in the Lumiere cinema on April 11 and 20 at 19:00. The director and screenwriter of the production is Chloe Zhao.

 The audience of the festival will also have the pleasure of seeing two talented actors in the film Supernova directed by Harry McQueen. Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci are Sam and Tusker, a couple with a long history and an uncertain future, facing the dreaded diagnosis of dementia. The film is a touching analysis of love in the shadow of tragedy. The screening at the Lumiere Cinema is on April 12 at 19:00.

Another intriguing suggestion is Gabriele Muchino’s Italian film The Best Years, which follows 40 years of the lives of four friends. A true story of friendship and love, in which time “marks” the characters, in the words of the director himself. In the roles of the four friends we will see Pierfrancesco Favino, Micaela Ramazzotti, Kim Rossi Stewart and Claudio Santamaria. The film is in the Lumiere cinema on April 10 at 19:00.

In the selection of Kinomania, fans of the seventh art can also see the Hungarian Final Report by director Istvan Szabo. A well-known professor of cardiology (played by Klaus Maria Brandauer) returns to his home village after retiring and becoming a general practitioner. There he finds himself in a complex network of relationships, which, however, helps him discover himself through music and singing, which are his youthful dream. The Final Report is at the Lumiere Cinema on April 11 at 4:30 p.m.

The Iranian film Sun Children, directed by Majid Majidi, is also one of the most exciting titles in the program, focusing on 12-year-old Ali and his three friends. The children work hard to help their families, but miraculously they manage to find a hidden treasure. The production was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor by Roohola Zamani, as well as 3 awards from the Iranian National Film Festival in Fajr – for best film, screenplay and scenography. The film will be screened at the Lumiere Cinema on April 7 at 19:00.

Director Benh Zeitlin’s new film Wendy is also in the program of Kinomania. This different version of the Peter Pan story is suitable for the whole family. The fairytale vision and dynamic plot combine concern for the environment and a view of the conflict between innocence and ignorance, abandonment and rejection. Devin France plays extremely well in the role of the rebellious Wendy, in the role of Peter Pan is Yeshua Mack, also starring Gage Nakin and Gavin Nakin as Wendy’s two younger brothers. The screening at the Lumiere Cinema is on April 19 at 19:00.
