The Ministry of Culture will help to create a special streaming platform for Community Centers (Chitalishta) , in which amateur creative events and folklore performances by various Chitalishte troupes from all over the country can be uploaded. The idea for this was presented during a joint press conference by the Minister of Culture Boil Banov and the Union of People’s Chitalishte.
The idea is that all cultural figures have a platform on which to upload their performances, recitals and competitions.
“There is still no unified policy regarding the participation of all amateurs in the development of community centers. The audience wants their performances, to enter the halls and to be involved in everything that happens on stage,” said Nikolai Doinov, chairman of the Union of the community centers, referring to this as a reason for the creation of such a streaming platform.
On behalf of the Union of People’s Chitalishte in Bulgaria, he praised the Minister of Culture for the “empathy and assistance” that the ministry has given to the survival of the Chitalishte institution during the pandemic.
Doinov also pointed out that the community centers are the basis of Bulgarian culture and their structure has not changed for 165 years.
