The American drama about the recession Nomadland and the British coming of age film Rocks lead with seven nominations for the BAFTA awards.

Mank,  The Father, Minari and Promising Young Woman follow with 6 nominations.

Maria Bakalova again received a nomination at a prestigious festival in the category for supporting actress. Her rivals are Niamh Algar (Calm With Horses), Kosar Ali (Rocks), Dominique Fishbeck (Judas and the Black Messiah), Ashley Madekwe (County Lines), Yun Yu-Jun (Minari).

This year’s nominations from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts are very diverse – 16 of the 24 actors are from ethnic minorities. Four women compete in the director’s category. Last year, the academy was criticized for its lack of diversity, and they have changed the voting rules.
